I always wanted bunk beds as a kid. The thought of getting to climb a ladder every day and sleep on the top bunk seemed like it must be so exciting. I never got the chance to have a bunk bed as a kid, but in a funny turn of events, not long after John and I were married, we needed to stay with my parents for a few weeks while we were in between semesters in college.
During the time that I had been away, they picked up some bunk beds and guess what? John and I got to sleep on them. Isn’t that hilarious? That is one of the joys of being the oldest kid and needing to live with mo and dad while you still have younger siblings at home. I’ll admit, it wasn’t nearly as exciting at 24 years old to climb up the ladder and go to sleep as I’m sure it would have been if had been 4 years old. Especially considering there were only 8 foot ceilings in the bedroom. Don’t sit up too fast in the morning. I may have bumped my head more than once. Ha! Bunk beds have not always been the prettiest to look at, but lately, that is starting to change. I’m getting the itch and wanting a bunk bed again, just this time they are built in and beautiful.
